Systematic review of 8 randomised controlled trials, 4,596 patients, compared against vehicle or single-agent treatment: acne lesion reduction ranged from 27.5% to 70.2%, and the review concludes the combination is safe and effective. It also states that combining a retinoid with benzoyl peroxide does not contribute to antibiotic resistance.
